NASCAR Experiences Significant Breach

In April 2025, the Medusa ransomware group claimed to exfiltrate over one terabyte of data from the systems of the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR). The scope of the breach is unconfirmed, but it could have included employee personal information such as names, email addresses, job titles and credentials-related details; detailed raceway ground maps used for security purposes; and other operational data including the types of vehicles used in each event.

Ahold Delhaize Suffers Data Breach

In October, Ahold Delhaize suffered a data breach from an unknown source that was later attributed to the INC ransomware gang. The data was reportedly leaked on the dark web and included names, addresses, dates of birth, government-issued ID numbers including Social Security, driver’s license, and passport numbers, and medical information from employment records as well as payment and financial account information.

People whose information is compromised in a data breach can suffer serious harm such as credit card fraud, identity theft, and other forms of unauthorized activity that can cause financial loss. Additionally, breach victims are often required to receive notification from the company involved and may have to go through a lengthy process to recover from the impact of having their sensitive personal information stolen.
