Cyber-security is any technology, process or practice that protects computers, mobile devices and other electronic systems and data from cyberattacks. The field is incredibly broad and encompasses everything from the protection of sensitive information to ensuring that hackers can’t access devices and services that are crucial for day-to-day operations like power grids and water treatment facilities.
Cybersecurity is an increasingly important industry as our lives become more dependent on technology. This trend is great for convenience and productivity, but it also creates more opportunities for cybercriminals to attack. From phishing scams to ransomware attacks, cybersecurity experts are responsible for protecting against the latest threats and keeping businesses running smoothly.
Some common roles in the field include:
